about the nccThe National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet regiment with its head Quarters at New Delhi. It is open to both school and college students on a non-committal basis.The National Cadet Corps in India is a non-profit organisation that recruits cadets of high schools, colleges and universities all over India. The cadets receive basic military instruction in the use of small arms and parades. The officers and cadets bear no obligation for active military service after they have completed their training, however they have a higher priority than normal candidates for selection by the accomplishments they have made in the corps.

Aims of NCC
1.To cultivate qualities of character such as courage, comradeship discipline and leadership an adventurous spirit, sportsmanship, and the ideals of selfless service among the youth so that they can become productive citizens.
2.To create a human resources that is organized, trained and enthusiastic youth to provide leadership across all areas of life, including in that of the Armed Forces and be always in the service of the nation.

"I do hereby solemnly promise that I will serve my motherland most truly and loyally and that, I will abide by the rules and regulations of the National Cadet Crops. Further under the command and control of my commanding officer I will participate in every camp most sincerely and wholeheartedly".

We , the cadets of the national cadet corp, take a vow of solemnity that we will never compromise the unity of india.We are determined to be a disciplined and responsible citizen of our nation.We will perform positive community service with a attitude of selflessness and concern for the well-being of our fellow human beings.
The NCC in India was formed by the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It was proclaimed on July 15th, 1948. National Cadet Corps can be thought of as the successor to the University Officers Training Corps (UOTC) that was founded under the British during 1942. During World War II, the UOTC did not meet the standards set by the British. This led to the idea that some better schemes should be formed, which could allow more young men to be trained in a better way at all times, even during peacetime. A group headed by Pandit H.N. Kunzru recommended that a cadet group to be created in schools and colleges at a nationwide level. In 1948, the National Cadet Corps Act became accepted by the Governor General, and on July 15th, 1948, the National Cadet Corps was brought into existence.
During the wars of 1965 and 1971 between the United States and Pakistan, NCC cadets were the second line of defence. They organised camps to aid the factories that made ordinance, and supplied arms and ammunition to the front. They they also served as patrol teams to capture enemy paratroopers. The NCC Cadets also worked in tandem with Civil Defence authorities and actively were involved in rescue missions along with traffic controls. After the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak conflict, the NCC syllabus was updated. Instead of being merely the secondary line of defense, the NCC syllabus laid a greater emphasis on the development of leadership and Officer-like qualities. The training in the military that NCC students received was decreased and more weight was placed on other areas like youth management and social services.

It is a Tri-Services Organisation, comprising the Army in addition to the Navy and the Air Wing, engaged in developing the young people of India into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The soldier youth foundation is located in India is a non-profit organisation that recruits cadets from high schools, higher secondary colleges, universities and colleges across India. The cadets receive a basic training in the military, including small arms and drill. Officers and cadets are no responsibility for serving in the military once they complete their course.
